A shout out for a good cause
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire is seeking donations to help 18-year-old David Verville further restore his 1987 Chevrolet pickup.

Almost a year ago, we enlightened you with the story of David Verville, who is 18, lives in rural New Hampshire and is coping with the realities of both Ewing’s sarcoma and fibromyalgia. The former disorder agonizingly attacks the structure of his pelvis and legs, but in the past year — and with your assistance — he’s made significant progress on restoring his 1987 Chevrolet ¾-ton pickup.

David, however, is not quite there, and he’s hoping you can aid him once more. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire is asking the Hemmings Nation to give David a hand in completing the restoration. David and his family believe four major components will allow him to finish the pickup: a replacement cargo bed (eight-foot Fleetside with twin tanks, suitable for 1973 to 1987 models), black interior door panels, a dashboard and carpeting. The labor, incidentally, is being donated by eight mechanics living near David’s home in Ossipee, New Hampshire.

If you’d like to help, get in touch with Darlene Fritz, who has been coordinating the donations to David’s restoration for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire. You can reach her at 800-776-9868, or by e-mailing Darlene.fritz@eii-hq.com.
